Vehicle fire under normal circumstances is accidental and therefore can be to a certain extent preventable with necessary precautions. For a wide array of reasons, including payment of claims from the insurance provider, the car owner must be able to substantiate that the vehicle was accorded reasonable protection from fire hazard.

Some preventive measures to protect your valuable investment and prevent denial of insurance claims are:
1. Regular check up of electrical system
2. Install master power switch between battery and wiring systems
3. Keep combustible materials away from fuel source
4. Manage or eliminate possible ignition sources
5. Keep ABC-type fire extinguishers handy
6. Whenever possible have fire detection devices installed in garages or structures housing your vehicle
